ADVOCACY The MinaCommUnity Initiative MISSION Dedicated to building a planetary response to climate change through effective journalism and a simplified approach model that evokes, inspires, and asserts action. ​ ​ ABOUT The man-made climate crisis is a monstrous undertaking. Phasing out carbon fossil fuels globally remains the biggest challenge we face in this climate fight. A transition of this scale will take many years. Meanwhile, there has to be more we can do collectively as a society to help reduce carbon emissions more rapidly. I believe there is. I call it organized collective restraint. Simple; because we all have the means. Further details on this concept will be shared in an upcoming op-ed by Mina Rios, to be submitted to the mass media in early 2024. The MinaCommUnity Initiative has highly ambitious intentions. partnerships and collaborations with groups interested in partaking in the simplified approach model to further the initiative. CLIMATE ACTIVIST/ADVOCACY TRAINING A Global Initiative founded by former Vice President Al Gore In association with the 2006 Academy Award winning documentary "An Inconvenient Truth," followed by the 2017 documentary "An Inconvenient Sequel." Mina Rios, Climate Leader, San Francisco Bay Area Chapter SF Bay Area Chapter Member since 2021. Received Leadership Corps Training led by Mr. Gore in Las Vegas, NV from June 11-13, 2022. Mina Rios is a trained climate leader with the Climate Reality Project, founded by former vice president Al Gore. She attended in-person leadership corps training in Las Vegas with chairman Gore in June 2022 and participated in Virtual Training in April 2023. Becoming a Climate Leader was a life-changing experience, inspiring Rios to become a devout proponent of vital climate information and solutions for the San Francisco Bay Area community and beyond. Rios is a contributing writer of the Climate Reality Bay Area chapter. August Dance Awareness Month ADAM Initiative MISSION To create more dialogue in local dance communities; educate the public about funding limitations; and stimulate year-round dance performance patronage. ​ ABOUT Mina Communications launched the August Dance Awareness Month campaign/initiative (ADAM) in San Diego in 2008. Aimed at stimulating local interest in dance, Mina Communications partnered with Dance San Diego Magazine to create an open/ongoing dialogue with the local dance community and establish partnerships with neighboring businesses and non-profits to help strengthen campaign efforts. Inspired by Eveoke Dance Theatre's 3-day Celebrate Dance Festival (CDF), held each August in San Diego's Balboa Park, ADAM would become an extension of Eveoke's weekend event, whereby performances, workshops, dance film presentations, and mixers would be held throughout the month of August.
